Spirune is a cozy pixel mystery for iPhone and iPad. If something isn’t working, the answers to the most common questions are below. For anything else, write to support@astrofate.app. Please tell us your device, its iOS or iPadOS version, the game’s version (in the Archive, under System, at the bottom of the page) and what happened just before the problem.

How do I play?

• Drag with your left thumb to walk (a joystick appears where you touch), or tap where you want to go.
• Tap people and things to talk to them and take a closer look. The round button at the bottom right uses your companion spirit’s power.
• The book at the top right opens the Archive: your cases, the Evidence Board, your spirits and the settings.
• Not sure what to do next? The panel at the top left always shows your next step.

How do I change the language?

On the title screen, tap Language. During a game, open the Archive, then System, then Language. Spirune speaks English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Français and Español, and the first time it starts it follows your device’s language.

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. Open the Archive, then System, then Text Size, and choose Standard, Large or Extra Large.

Where are my saves? Do they sync?

Your progress is saved on your device, in three save slots. If you’re signed in to iCloud, each slot is also copied to your own iCloud, so your other iPhone or iPad can pick it up. There’s nothing to set up in the game.

• If a slot in iCloud differs from the one on your device, the title screen asks which one to keep (“Use iCloud’s” or “Keep this one”). Nothing is replaced without asking, and the game keeps the old save on the device as a backup.
• On a new device, or after reinstalling, the title screen offers to restore your saves from iCloud.
• Your settings (language, text size and sound) stay on each device.
• To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Spirune in your device’s Settings. The game keeps saving on the device as before.

I lost a fight. Do I have to start over?

No. When your courage runs out, you retry only the current phase of the fight.

Is there anything to buy?

No. Spirune is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases, and it works offline.

Can I play in portrait?

No, Spirune plays in landscape. On iPhone Duo, if you hold the open screen upright, the game plays in a band across the middle of it.

Which devices does Spirune run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 15 or later. On iPhone Duo, the game follows the screen as you fold and open it.

How do I delete my data?

Spirune has no account, so everything it keeps is on your device and in your own iCloud. Deleting a save slot in the game also deletes your device’s copy of it in iCloud, and deleting the app deletes the game’s files from the device. The privacy policy has the details.
