Terms of use
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms are for Spirune: The Spirit Archive, the game for iPhone and iPad, and for this website. Spirune is made by AstroFate LLC (“we”, “us”). By downloading or playing Spirune you agree to them, so please read them. If you don’t agree, please don’t play.
The App Store’s licence
You get Spirune from Apple’s App Store, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to it. Where the two disagree, the Standard EULA wins.
Playing
Spirune is free to download, and it’s yours to play for fun, not to sell or to run as a business. Please don’t:
- copy, change, take apart or pass on copies of the game, except as the law allows;
- use the game in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.
Things in the game
Memory fragments, keepsakes, items and everything else in Spirune exist only in the game, whether you find them, earn them or buy them. You get the right to use them in the game, not ownership of them. They have no value outside it, and they can’t be sold, traded or exchanged for money. We may change how they’re earned, what they cost in the game and what they do, to keep the game fair and fun.
Purchases
Anything Spirune offers for sale is sold through the App Store.
- You buy with your Apple Account, and Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions apply. Apple charges you and handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
- Prices are shown in the game, in your own currency, before you buy.
- Refunds are made by Apple. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Children should ask a parent or guardian before buying anything. With Apple’s Ask to Buy, a parent approves each purchase first.
Ads
If Spirune shows ads, some may come from other companies. We don’t endorse what they advertise, and we aren’t responsible for their products, services or websites. The privacy policy says what, if anything, the ads in the game collect.
Your saves
Your progress is kept on your device and, if you use it, in your own iCloud. We can’t see it, so we can’t restore it if it’s lost. If your progress matters to you, keep your device backed up.
Apple’s services
iCloud is Apple’s service, and Apple’s terms apply to it.
Changes to the game
We may update Spirune to add, change or remove features, including adding things to buy or showing ads, and we may stop offering it. We’ll do our best to keep the game working well, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of bugs.
Who owns what
Spirune, including its name, story, characters, art, music and code, belongs to AstroFate LLC. The pixel font it’s written in is Fusion Pixel Font by TakWolf, used under the SIL Open Font License. This website and everything on it belong to AstroFate LLC too; you’re welcome to link to it.
Our responsibility
Spirune is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses that come indirectly from using it, or that we couldn’t have foreseen. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
Apple
These terms are between you and AstroFate LLC, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Spirune or its content, and doesn’t have to provide maintenance or support for it. If Spirune doesn’t meet a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it, if any; as far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for it. Apple isn’t responsible for any claims about Spirune, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn’t meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar laws. If someone claims that Spirune, or your having and using it, infringes their intellectual property rights, AstroFate LLC, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with that claim.
You confirm that you aren’t in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or one the U.S. Government has named as supporting terrorism, and that you aren’t on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
The law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to their conflict-of-law rules. If the law of the country where you live gives you the right to have it apply, or to bring a claim in your local courts, these terms don’t take that right away.
