Privacy policy

Spirune: The Spirit Archive is a game for iPhone and iPad made by AstroFate LLC (“we”, “us”). This page explains what happens to your information when you play it, and when you visit this website.

In short: Spirune doesn’t collect any information about you. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the game doesn’t talk to any server of ours. Your saves stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud, where we can’t see them.

On your device

Spirune keeps your saved games (up to three save slots) and your settings (language, text size, music and sound) on your iPhone or iPad. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

If you back up your device with iCloud Backup or a computer, these files are part of that backup, under Apple’s terms. Deleting the app deletes them from the device.

iCloud

When you’re signed in to iCloud, Spirune keeps a copy of your three save slots in your own iCloud account, using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so you can carry on playing on your other iPhone or iPad. Your settings aren’t copied.

Apple stores this copy under your Apple Account. We have no access to it, and it never passes through us. When you delete a save slot in the game, the game also deletes the copy of it that your device put in iCloud.

To stop the copying, turn off iCloud for Spirune in your device’s Settings, under your name and then iCloud. The game then saves on the device only.

What we collect

Nothing. We don’t run servers for the game, and it sends no information about you or your device to us or to anyone else.

Other companies’ software

Spirune is made with the Unity game engine. Unity’s analytics, hardware statistics and crash reporting are switched off in Spirune. The game contains no advertising or analytics software from anyone.

What Apple tells us

Apple gives developers anonymous, combined App Store statistics, and crash reports from people who chose to share them. None of it identifies you.

Children

Spirune is made for everyone, and it collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Writing to us

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use them only to answer you.

This website

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or any other tracking, and it loads nothing from anyone else’s servers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles your IP address and the pages you ask for in order to deliver them and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers what it does with that information.

The site is in the game’s seven languages. When you choose one, or close the suggestion to read the site in yours, your browser remembers that choice on your device, so the suggestion doesn’t come back. It is never sent to us. If you write your name in the ledger on the home page, it stays on that page and is gone when you leave it.

Changes

If a future version of Spirune changes any of this, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
